How To Create A Vision Board

Updated: Dec 28, 2023

It's that time again! Yes the new year is approaching, and it's time to assess our goals and ambitions. You may not have any new goals, but you may need to do an audit of the ones you've already set. One of the best ways to do so is to create a Vision Board. A Vision Board is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one's dreams, goals, and desires. Some uses for a Vision Board is:

  • source of inspiration and motivation

  • helps you visualize success

  • visual representation of hopes, and future achievements

  • visual motivation

  • aspirations for the year

  • goal setting

Vision Boards can consists of different categories like:

  • Wealth

  • Career

  • Health

  • Learning

  • Spirituality

  • Family

I've had vision boards for every occasion including the time I was searching for an apartment. I put all the things I would need to fill it up by sections. I've done boards for weight loss. I have a Digital Vision Board for the next five years on my iPad. Here are some benefits of creating a Vision Board:

  • alleviates anxiety

  • depression

  • stress

  • helps express feelings and goals that may be hard to put into words

  • helps you grow

  • gets you motivated

  • shifts your mindset

  • feel happy

  • connect different areas in your life

  • improves chances of success

One way to have fun with creating your vision board is to have a Vision Board Party. One of the Girlfriend Groups I'm a part of on Facebook recently had a Online Video Vision Board Party. We had an absolute fun and fantastic time. Now before I go, I do want to give you a few things to avoid when creating your board. Eliminate advertisements, they tend to cause distractions, avoid too many pics, be clear on your intent, place your board where you can see it at all times, and commit to take action!
